I began to exact some revenge for the beatings I had taken from bullies. I’d be walking with some friends, and I might see one of the guys who beat me up and bullied me years earlier. He might have gone into a store shopping, and I would drag his ass out of the store and start pummeling him. I didn’t even tell my friends why, I’d just say, «I hate that motherfucker over there,» and they’d jump in too and rip his fucking clothes and beat his fucking ass. That guy who took my glasses and threw them away? I beat him in the streets like a fucking dog for humiliating me. He may have forgotten about it, but I never did.
When Hulu’s Mike, the upcoming limited series that tells the story of Mike Tyson’s life, was announced early last year, the boxing legend publicly condemned the project, calling it a «tone-deaf cultural misappropriation of my life story» at the time. With the project preparing for its Aug. 25 premiere, the producers addressed Tyson’s criticisms over the existence of the unauthorized series.
«We are animals trying to be people, as Mark Twain said,» he says when the topic turns to how men treat women. «And just like in school, some of us pass the test before others. I had a difficult time becoming a human being. I stayed in the animal category a little too long.»
«A week later he fought and knocked out Clifford in one round and I was upset. I was happy for Mike that he won, but I was also upset that I had trained him for eight weeks and I wasn’t a part of that win.»
But, again, when you hire a freakin’ tax attorney you’re essentially booking your stay in prison. Of all the things Tyson has admitted to he still proclaims his innocenct, though, he did vaguely admit to committing things that were worse, which definitely makes us scratch our heads.

And there were three more, which you may have already forgotten about. All of them were stuffed in different periods of the boxer’s life.

Alan Dershowitz, acting as Tyson’s counsel, filed an appeal urging error of law in the Court’s exclusion of evidence of the victim’s past sexual conduct (known as the Rape Shield Law; Dershowtiz alleged that Washington had «falsely accused one of her high school classmates of rape»), the exclusion of three potential defense witnesses, and the lack of jury instructions on honest and reasonable mistake of fact. The Indiana Court of Appeals ruled against Tyson in a 2–1 vote. The Indiana Supreme Court let the lower court opinion stand due to a 2–2 split in its review. The tie vote was due to the fact that the Chief Justice, Randall T. Shepard, recused himself from the case. The Chief Justice later revealed he did so because of a heated argument between his wife and Dershowitz at a Yale Law School reunion concerning the case. On March 26, 1992, Tyson was sentenced to six years in prison along with four years of probation. He was assigned to the Indiana Youth Center (now the Plainfield Correctional Facility) in April 1992, and he was released in March 1995 after serving less than three years of the sentence. He left with prison tattoos of tennis player Arthur Ashe and Chinese communist leader Mao Zedong; Tyson also dates his tattoo of Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara to this time.
